Filed under: Handmade goods, Reconstructed, Shop update — maki ♥ squarepatch @ 3:55 pm

is it too early to call it a break already?? maki’s little workshop has been working overtime with custom orders lately(thanks all for the support! love you all) and we honestly can’t get enough of them but it’s time to rejuvenate to get the creative juices flowing again, HENCE we will not be working on any custom orders from 20 Dec 06 – 01 Jan 07. yes! it’s break time! all other orders will still be proceessed as per normal and you can still send your custom orders in but they will only be processed 02 Jan 07 onwards while we take a break for Christmas :) so if you want any custom job (purse, t-shirt, dress, flat dollie, or even snoofie!) done, please pop your order in by 08 Dec :) we’re too excited about Christmas not to enjoy it all we can! we hope you’ll have a great Christmas this season too.

with candy cane love,

enqi & xin
p/s we will be stocking up the shop with MORE goodies in a day or two. keep watch :)

party’s over! but only for now. November 27, 2006

boy are we bummed out! it was 2 days of weird weather – an intermittent of oven-intense heat and drizzly rain. we saw other maadsters there that we’ve never seen before (then again, we’re new maadsters). our maki mascots made it to the maad wall of fame!

and yes all thanks to dennis for that.

if you came by, you would have caught maadster’s works in the living room:

maki’s table runner, saltplay’s awesome shell bracelet (mm! love it!).

and there must have been this secret party going on in the living room with dennis dishing out free beer (like what’s new?) cos snoofalupagus (aka snoofie o) looks drunk and has got himself a party hat. and he’s chillin’ with his homies, the chumpy cushion and security bolster duo.

i’m sure wabbit’s had a hand in all the secret action too and he must have tried smoking the tree cos here he is, caught in the twig by an inch of his underwear. how typical of him!

yellow stands for sunday

maki squarepatch’s online store is finally OPEN! we’re kick starting this store with our first collection: yellow stands for sunday. this collection centers around the nostalgia of good old times shared by xin and i. inspired by dad and mom’s love for nature and outings on sunday afternoons, yellow stands for sunday introduces loads of bright yellow prints and floral vintage dresses/fabrics picked for their strong reflection of a good sunny flavor. some of the stuff that can be found in this collection: a selection of dresses handmade by our granny back in the 60s, cute patchwork purses adorned with garden animal patterns and maki squarepatch’s very own makiki dollies: a variety of dolls (from heavy to flat ones!) made entire from scrap fabric and pre-loved clothing. this series includes items such as pen holders, wall-hangings, book ends, or funky cloth sculptures to adopt for a new space.

maki squarepatch can be found at MAAD from november to december 2006 so check out our calendar frequently for more updates!
