Fash Bash here we come! March 28, 2007

it’s long awaited and it’s finally here again! we’re talking FASH BASH, the hippest event to go mad shopping for anything unique, anything branded and anything totally hip and fashionable. this time bigger, better and more happening (so they say..and i believe ).

Maki Squarepatch will be having a little stall there so please come by, say hi and check out our stuff along with everybody else’s. We will most likely be bringing down some of our vintage numbers too, dresses and stuff, to give it a good mix alongside our handmade goodies (made from pre-loved and some vintage materials sometimes, yes!). just wanna say a big thank you to Jaclyn for giving us a small feature on the latest fashion read Kate magazine, a cutely sized magazine that’s easy to carry around! i really dig mags this size btw. it gets dog-eared less easily in my huge (and usually messy) tote bag.

MAAD’s first plushie exhibition ROCKS March 6, 2007

wow it was a MAAD weekend of fun and ogling at all the lovely entries that were submitted! alot of the artists and designers couldn’t bear to part with their plushies hence they were mainly not for sale. some pictures of the exhibits:

enqi’s 2004 birthday present March 1, 2007

in the formative years of maki squarepatch, xin was already brewing up a mini storm in her little room/craft studio/drawing room. i was given this for my birthday 3 years ago, safety pinned birthday note intact and all. still, i can’t quite figure out what creature it is. is it a penguin? i dunno, it’s too cute anyway and i still adore it lots. thanks xin! it’s wonderful to have a craftster for a sister!

on second thoughts…a penguin with batik diapers?

mypaper covered us! :) January 30, 2007

mypaper’s issue today! 30 january 2007. first thing xin could say was ‘i look worried’. indeed she did cos she was frowning! it was a nice full page article on crafting with instructions in mandarin and some tips too. so go pick up your copy today and learn some crafting/sewing tips! we’ll try to post up some simple stuff soon on our website/blog so keep an eye out for those.
